The Little Mermaid
This version of classic Disney animated film The Little Mermaid has been restored so that the colors are more vibrant and it is more enjoyable to watch. The movie tells the tale of a young mermaid, Ariel, the daughter of King Tritan, who falls in love with a human and has to go behind her father's back in order to meet her heart's desire. In order to do this, she falls in with some dark characters.
One of my favorite things about this movie are the songs. It is full of well written and stylized music which is enjoyable to both adults and children. The characters are all great. Besides Arial and other merpeople, there is a crab (Sybastian) who watches Ariel and tries to keep her in line, a fish (Flounder) who is her pal, and a seagull who provides some great comic relief. I think this is one of the best Disney films around and shouldn't be missed by kids!
