The iPod is the most famous music player of this era, being worn by students to superstars. However, does that warrent you spending a couple hundred dollars on an mp3 player when you can get one with the same storage capacity at half the price? The answer is yes and no. If you do have the money to spend on a music device I say go for it because nobody makes music easier than apple. The iPod has the easiest interface in the most recognizable body. The music quality is above average the the screen is bright and clear. The only downside is the slow loading times when putting music into the device and the horrendous battery life (it can barely get through one movie). However, if you want the storage space and possibly better battery life and much better value, go with other players such as zune (which deals can be found constantly). iPod is great if you must have what is "in" because it does music, photos, and video and packages it together in a nice white or black case. But it's high price, horrible battery, and easily scratchable surface make it a fringe choice for me.
