The Nintendo DS is Nintendo's answer to Sony's PSP. The DS features a dual screen layout, and one of the screens is touch. The DS lite is brighter, thinner, lighter, and cleaner version of the original design. The DS is aimed for at younger children (as are most nintendo products). The DS is mainly a game system, as the DS cannot play movies or store music, photos, etc. The DS does have a very wide selection of fun and unique games (made available by the touch screen). The games are definitely cheaper than PSP games but are much simplier. DS's processing power is not nearly as powerful as the PSP, but that is not a big problem because of the simple games the DS supports. The DS is very fun to connect to another DS and play multi-player games. For younger children, I would recommend this system over the PSP because of the cheaper price and generally more fun games.
