Stevie Nicks - Trouble in Shangri-La

This is a comeback album of sorts for Stevie Nicks. It features a newly sober Stevie back in true form following years of prescription drug use that left her with minimal and poor musical output for far too long.

The disc features 13 songs and a heavy presence by her friend, Sherl Crowe. Sheryl sings on and produces several songs here, and the final song, Love Is, was written for Stevie by Sheryl. Other guests on the album include Macy Gray, Natalie Maines (of the Dixie Chicks), and Sarah McLachlan.

The songs feature strong vocals by Stevie and on several of the songs, such as Sorcerer, we hear her singing out of her normal (and limited) range.

There are several standout tracks here. Planets of the Universe is probably the best song here. It was released as a single with remixes and made it to #1 on the Billboard Dance music chart. Sorcerer is also great featuring vibrant vocals by both Stevie and Sheryl.

This is a great solo album by Stevie and probably rivals her first, Bella Donna, as my favorite of all her works. The disc showcased a confident and rejuvenited Stevie, and her efforts were rewarded when the album debuted at #5 on the Billboard charts.
