I had done 2 pilates classes a week for a semester while in college and really missed the work out so I sought out a DVD to practice too. A year after my last class I was so out of shape that I felt like I definitely needed to start from the beginning. I really liked this workout video and I am pretty picky about videos (it seems like I am always looking for a reason not to work out these days). The music was good, not too cheesey or anything like that, but something like you would hear in a real pilates class. The instructor is not annoying with a sing song voice or anything like that. She also breaks down the movements and explains each step.
I eventually got bored with this video but only because I remembered more of the exercises than I had thought. So if you are a complete novice then I highly recommend this video however if you have any experience with pilates then I would see if Gaiam has any other videos. Enjoy!

Thanks for the information, I know nothing about this, so it sounds like it would work for me.
great advice looking into a more advanced video if you have been doing pilates for a while. This sounds great for beginners, but I am going to look for something a little more advanced from Giaim
Sounds like a good one for beginners. And thanks for the info regarding the instructor voice and the music.
This sounds like it's great for a beginner... thanks for being honest about getting bored! Thanks for sharing your experience with this product!
I really want to enroll in a Pilates class. I'm out of shape at the moment and I want to be back to my slimmer figure.
I have this- it is great--just need to do it more often!
