World Trade Center A True Story of Courage and Survival. This is an Oliver Stone film, this is an inspiring true story about courage, family and our nation's unyielding spirit. Nicolas Cage and Michal Pena star as John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno, two New York City Port Authority policemen who were trapped in the rubble of September 11th, 2001. As McLoughlin and Jimeno bond together in a fight for survival, the events of an unimaginable day unfold through the eyes of the two policemen, their loving wives, survivors and rescuers throughtout the city.
I will admit this movie probably isn't for every one. Some people can not watch shows about the events that happened on 9/11. This movie would not be for them as it can bring back memories of that awful day. But the movie I feel was a good movie that captured the true meaning of courage and survival and of course our American spirit.
I really recommend the special 3 Disc edition to watch some of the extra footage including 75 minutes of interviews with survivors and rescuers.

This would be a great tool for teaching older kids who don't remember what happened about that day. I can still remember where I was the first time I learned about what had happened. Doesn't seem like that long ago does it.
While I still cannot watch even footage of that terrible day, I salute the makers of the film for keeping it real and handling it with sensitivity. Maybe one day I'll be ready but not right now.
