Lupe Fiasco is at it Again

Share and Enjoy:
Lupe Fiasco is known as one those people who don't follow the trends. If you noticed, hip hop has been getting a lot of bad press because of all the songs degrading females, money, drugs, and cars. Its pretty pointless if you ask me.  I think you can't blame the genre for what the artists say, but find artists who have a good message to share. Lupe Fiasco is one of those poeple to look towards. His second album The Cool shocked me with the catchy raps, that actually had meaning. One of the greatest tracks on the CD is "Intruder Alert".  It talks about three different people who generally get outcasted, a poor immigrant, a drug addict, and a raped women. Most rappers these days do not take any regard to these type of topics, because they go on, but you have to be pretty brave to even mention it. One of my favorite tracks is "Paris, Tokyo". While it might sound like just another song, it proves that we are afriad to learn about different cultures. It encourages trying new things out. Every song on The Cool has a great meaning, hip hop needs more people like Lupe Fiasco to spread positive messages.
