Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse

This is an excellent gaming mouse. It is a laser mouse, up to 2000 dpi. It has 10 buttons, 1 scroll wheel, and a mini LCD screen. Three of the buttons are used for on-the-fly DPI switching (you choose the DPIs in a program included with the mouse), one of the buttons is used to launch the mouse customization software (SetPoint) in Windows XP, or launch Games Explorer in Windows Vista, and one of the buttons are used for macro recording. A macro is basically a series of keyboard button presses set to once mouse button. For example, you could set one of the programmable mouse buttons to reload all your weapons in a certain game. The buttons feel very durable, and the layout of the buttons is excellent. There are 2 thumb buttons; unlike most gaming mice, these thumb buttons are not next to each other, but instead one is above the other one. By default, these buttons are set to "Forward" and "Backward" in Internet Explorer, but you can change their function in the SetPoint software. The mouse also has a weight system, so you can fine tune how heavy the mouse is. It comes with 4 weights: three 10g weights, and one 5g weight. The mouse itself only has 3 slots for weights though, for a maximum of +30g. You can even change the mouse feet; the mouse comes with 3 sets of custom feet: 1 set of white teflon feet, 1 set of grey teflon feet, and 1 set of black plastic feet. It also comes with a cable anchor, to prevent cable tangling. There is also a mini LCD screen, to display current DPI setting, and it guides you through the creation of a macro. Overall, this is a very good gaming mouse, although the price is slightly high (~$100 US).
