With Chimaira's fourth major label release, they really stepped it up with this one. This album is a darker heavier release than the last ones, consisting of songs like Pleasure in Pain, The Flame, Six, and Empire. The guitar work on it is awesome. And with Andols returning on drums after an album absence. But with the darker tones, Mark Hunter has added more range to his vocals, adding more death metal style growling. Plus adding more is one of the guitarist Matt Devries is now writing material as well. The solos are more rounded out than the last album, and more presence from Chris the sampler adds more ambience. If you are a fan of heavy metal, and newer style stuff, you should definitely check this album out.
