This was my first Digital SLR Cameras. I was happy to place my order and excited to learn the ropes of the digital side of SLRS. In my opinion this is a great camera to start off with. Some of the things that are lacking are low frames per second and metering modes that are availible on higher end Canons and other Nikon systems. However this is the cheapest way to have acess to Canon's awesome library of lenses. That is where the real quality comes from. Just like film bodies, the quality comes froms the lens selection which allows all EF lenses and all EF-S lenses. I have gotten great results from this ultra cheap "prosumer" body. Another negative is the build of the body. It is all plastic and may be a little small for some users.
