Nintendo Wii

Share and Enjoy:

The Nintendo Wii. It was released over a year ago, and now, people are still desperately waiting outside stores to grab their hands on one. It is truly one of the most unique gaming consoles that anybody can just pick up and play. Here, I will go over many of the things that makes this gaming console outsell both the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Image / Sound Quality ::

There's not much to say for this; it is obviously designed for all ages, so there isn't any exciting about the quality of the sound or graphics. If you want a graphics powerhouse, this isn't the gaming console for you. None of the games thus far will get your heart pumping with amazing sound. It is very decent for what you pay for, and of course, the resolution and quality of your TV will also account for the sound and image quality.

Game Selection ::

The games selection is of nice size, but I would've expected more to come out from this 1+ year. There have been some very amazing games that have come out for the Wii, such as Super Mario Galaxy, which quickly became one of the highest rated games in history. It has very intuitive gameplay and has fantastic orchestral music. There are about 80 games available for Wii.

Innovation ::

The Wii has won the hearts of millions because of the great, intuitive gameplay. You use this remote-like Wiimote that you can use guestures to play different games. For example, you can shake it like a sword or make it a virtual steering wheel in Excite Truck by tilting it on its side and steering by tilting the remote from left to right, etc. The Nunchuk attachment can go in handy while playing such adventure games and is very convenient.

Style ::

The Wii comes in a very simple box, and it has a glossy white exterior. You can either lay it flat or on a gray stand that goes perfectly with it. It is very small for a game console, weighing in at roughly 8 lbs. It is a very stylish small box with high technology in it.

Media Capabilities ::

The Wii does not come with a media center like the Xbox 360, but there are many tricks people have found to stream media from your computer right onto your TV screen with the Wii. First, there are these channels you will see in the main menu. You can purchase channels from the Wiishop. How does it connect to the internet? With the built in Wi-Fi. At the Wiistore, you must first need Wii points. 1000 Wii points convert to about $10 USD. In the store is an Internet Channel, where you can browse the internet. It has Flash, so you can view media content. There's this service called Orb that can help you stream media from your computer to your TV. Further instruction can be found by doing a simple Google search for it. There is also an SD memory card slot, where you can put some of your photos and view and edit them right on your TV.

So, this rounds up my review on the Nintendo Wii. The $250 miracle box.
