First Blood (Ultimate Edition)
Ah....the birth of Rambo. First Blood is in my opinion, the best of the currently released Rambo films. Stallone really shines as this "man of few words but lots of bullets" Vietnam veteran. The thing that sets this movie apart from the sequels is the realism. Rambo has not yet transformed into the cartoon character that he becomes later in the trilogy. The special features in this edition are a bit of a joke. They try to give you a special ops type vibe that is never achieved. There is a bit of interesting information if you are willing to wade through all of the floating crosshairs and scrolling text. What makes this dvd worth the price is the commentary by Sylvester Stallone. He really gives you an inside look at the making of the film.
