Breaking up is (really) hard to do

Share and Enjoy:

A lot of chic lit books, if not all of them, deal with breakups, but this one takes a different tact on them. The main character of the story works for Your Big Break, Inc. a company that assists people in breaking off relationships, firing people and the like.

Lying for a living, as in "It's not you it's me," starts to wear on Dani after a while, and it gets even worse when she falls for one of her dumpees and can't tell him what she does for a living. In addition, she learns through her work that her dad is having an affair when his mistress tries to hire her to dump him.

This is a fun, quick read that reads kind of like a diary. The chapters are broken up with snippets of YBB's rules, which Dani rather habitually decides to selectively follow. Read it and share it with your girlfriends.

I really enjoyed this book because I thought it had a unique angle on breakups. I was excited to read it from the first page. I always enjoy books that switch things up a bit instead of just following a typical formula. I read it in about three days.
