Hotel Phillips in Kansas City

The Hotel Phillips is Kansas City is a restored art deco hotel right in the middle of downtown, close to dining and the Midland Theater. It sat empty for many years until an investment group bought and restored the property. The restoration is beautiful and the rooms are clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The rooms are extremely small, however. I stayed for two nights, but I'm not sure the rooms would be suitable for a longer stay, especially if you plan on spending any time in your room. The bathroom was about the size of an average walk-in closet, but they provide your with a thick bathrobe and Aveda hair and skin products. The staff was extremely friendly and very knowledgable about the area and made great recommendations for entertainment and provided us with directions to area attractions. There is a bar and a restaurant, but both are pricey. There are several restaurants within walking distance that are better values.
