I start off my day with a freshly ground cup of coffee every morning, so why is it I had never heard of this divine coffeemaker? If you love a great tasting cup of coffee and prefer stainless and black appliances in your kitchen then consider the Capresso. It is a triumph of good Italian design and function. What other coffeemaker do you know of that comes with it's own built-in water filter? I love that it also has a separate setting, just for brewing 3-5 cups of java whenever I long for that mid afternoon coffee break. In the morning I go full throttle, 10 cups, which is really more like four to five of my big mugs.
It has a stainless steel thermal carafe with a sleek and contemporary look. The first clock I have ever seen that is actually easy to re-set. We live in an area with frequent power outages so I am very familiar with re-setting all appliances - some can be a pain. On days when I need to leave for an early commute I use the 24-hr programmable pre-set feature. I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning before I even get out of bed.
I think it is brilliant, that this machine actually came with a sticker that shows the 1-800 number for their customer service to order water filters or a replacement coffee filter. The website address www.capresso.com and their working hours are on the same sticker - which, I might add - after 3 years, is still easy to read - right on the side of the machine. Impressive - I love that I don't have to hunt for information in my catch all drawer. Warranty - don't know - after three years it is still working like a charm. I can guarantee you that it gets a daily workout and more.
The one minor flaw - which I've learned to live with, is that the screw-on lid on the carafe is not too easy to turn. It's easy to pour without dripping and clean up is a breeze. I swallowed hard at the price of just under a hundred, but I also know from personal experience that there are $60-$80 dollar models out there that perform no better than a $25 machine. This Capresso is worth the price. It certainly has exceeded my expectations in quality and performance. Being the coffee lover that I am - I was simply tired of wearing out the cheapie coffeemakers and this stylish model was the solution.
For the ultimate praise I can only say that when this coffeemaker needs replacement I will buy another Capresso product. For those of you looking - if you are serious about your java the Capresso MT500 is the coffeemaker for you.

I wish I had known the Capresso was this good Rose. I spent nearly $200 on the Starbucks Barista Aroma Grande. The features, style, even the lid problems are identical. The only difference is in the price tag. This will definitely be my next coffee machine.
