The large microwave oven we had used for years went on the blink a couple of years ago and we needed to find another one to replace it. My husband and I decided to go for economy of both money and space this time around, due to our apartment being so cramped, and opted to get a small microwave oven this time around. GE is a brand we trust, so, while scoping out what was available at a nearby Wal-Mart, we saw the GE 0.7 Cu Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave for under $50. We decided to get it, because it was, at the time, the least expensive microwave we saw and because, frankly, we didn't really feel we needed a big one, like we had before. It has only 700 watts of power, but that's okay for us. The settings are simple with easy automatic defrost and even cooking temperatures. The glass turntable is the only thing that drives me up a wall, because it keeps moving off track a lot, but I can live with that. The size of the unit is 10.18" x 17.875" x 13" and it fits very unobtrusively into a corner of our kitchen countertop. If you have a small household, then the GE 0.7 Cu Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave is perfect.
