When it comes to 3d design, as you can tell i,m very serious, i don't want software thats going to get out of date, or not work as described AFTER i pay for it, and with software that costs as much as 3ds max, i,ll tell you i was pretty doubtful at first.

After Getting 3ds max i was truely amazed, with the endless capabilities, tool, features, materials, and customizations you can make, 3ds max is a heavy weight in the 3d industry.

Boasting its many plugins, its hyper realism, ease of use, and most of all compatability, 3ds max will definately please ANY 3d modeller or designer of any sort really.

It is by far one of the most powerful programs i have ever used, after going through programs like ,Maxon cinema 4d, Bryce 3d, Poser, Vue, AC3d, and even the free Blender 3d i was never amazed to the point i am now, 3ds max tops ALL of those with ease and no problem at all

The customer service is great, after a while of intensively using the product i noticed a few bugs, like crashing when rendering big files and images, i reported the problem and they added a patch to SP2 fixing the issue fast and easy, and friendly also.

as far as upgrades, i cant even begin to describe how many useful plugins there are for max, autodesk themselves offer great plugins for low prices while sites all over the web offer a great deal of mega useful addons like for example, Splutterfish released a new renderer for 3ds max called Brazil R/S, let me tell you with only a day of messing with the configuration i got myself to making a SERIOUSLY realistic looking scene with materials so good my family thought it was a photo!

To any designer out there,, with a real taste in their products, i highly recommend 3ds max, it will triumph ANY other software you can gather up.

Also very soon 3ds max 2008 (10) is coming! with even more features that will be a beatiful release, so go check it out! i know you will love it, i sure do!.
