Fender FM 212R - Great Value
Share and Enjoy:
When playing on this amp, I use a Zoom G2 effects unit through the clean channel. A review of the sound I can achieve like this would not be a true review of the amp. The amp itself puts out a clean tone unrivaled by other amps in this class. Before buying this amp I played on the Marshall 250 DFX. While it had more effects (all of which put out a rather cheap sound), its clean channel pailed in comparison to that of the fender. The 212R also has 2 levels of distortion. The first level puts out a great crunch for rhythm playing while the second leval allows for wild solos. The mid contour button on the amp puts out a Metallica-esque sound if thats what your going for. All 3 of these channels can be cycled through on the included footswitch. The only draw back to this amp is that, aside from the awesome reverb, it comes with no effects. If your looking for a multi effects system, I reccomend the Zoom G2. If you are looking for a loud, solid state, combo amp, the fender FM 212R is the best in its class.
