Whirlpool Dishwasher Model GU2548
I purchased a new energy-star Whirlpool dishwasher a little more than two years ago to replace the one which came with my house, which was a foreclosure. The Whirlpool dishwasher has many features my old one didn't have, such as Glass Xpress, rinse only, soak & scour, hi-temp wash, and sani-rinse. I purchased this dishwasher at Best Buy and was lucky enough to arrive when they were having a three-years no interest promotion. The end result is that I was able to pay easy $35 payments which barely affected my budget.
I have found the heated wash and sani-rinse functions to be absolutely indespensible. Most people aren't aware that if your dishwasher doesn't have a heated wash function, you must run the hot water at the faucet before running it for it to work properly. Now I can just turn on my dishwasher and let it do its work on its own.
The only problem I really had with the dishwasher was a build-up of residue inside the basin, and dishes not getting properly clean. I had been using Palmolive Baking Soda Gel detergent, which is what I used in all my other dishwashers. I solved the problem by switching to Cascade Complete, at least temporarily. Within a few days, the reside would be gone. This is an excellent dishwasher, but I strongly recommend that you use Cascade Complete in it for most washes.
The dishwasher itself was $469.99. My total cost for the dishwasher plus installation, delivery, and a five year in-home extended warranty was $736.95.
