Fruitabu Organic Smooshed Fruit Snack
Yes, I am one of those parental types that consider giving children candy as a snack is one of the evil sins. With studies coming out everyday that state the health effects being caused by some of children’s favorite snacks on the market, it is hard to agree to obese causing snacks to come into the house. The answer is Fruitabu fruit flats. These fruit flats are a healthy alternative to fruit rollups that used to be popular with children in the 1980’s.
Fruitabu is a company that came out of the state of Washington around 1976 when the first “smooshed fruit” was introduced to the general market. Now there are not only fruit flats but also fruit swirls available in a few different flavors. Our favorite in my household is the “smooshed raspberry” and “smooshed strawberry” fruit flats. All of the other flavors including apple, apricot and grape are just as good however we enjoy the two above mentioned flavors the best.
These fruit snacks are not only made from 100% fruit but are also 100% USDA certified organic. For the raspberry fruit flat, the ingredients are: Organic apple puree concentrate, organic raspberry puree and organic lemon juice concentrate. With all these natural organic ingredients, there are only around 40 calories per serving!
If this were not enough to satisfy your snack needs, the price will be even better. Each flat individually is around 25 cents. For a box of six fruit flats, the price ranges just less than $4.00. That is an amazing price compared to the other alternatives available in grocery stores today.
The flavor is fantastic and kid approved, we suggest them to everyone! They are perfect for kids and adults looking to save a few inches.
