Allstate Term Life Insurance

After our first son was born my husband and I decided that it would be a good idea to get some life insurance. At the time we both had some life insurance through our employers, but it was very minimal. My husband had always had his automobile insurance through Allstate Insurance so we went to them for our Life Insurance. We decided on the a 30 year Term Life Insurance policy. We got a $100,000 policy on my husband and then $100,000 on myself. The total price came up to less than $300 a year. We had no problems attaining this insurance.  Well, several years later (another child and a big mortgage later too!)we decided that we should probably have some more coverage. So we went back to Allstate. They sent for our medical records, same as the last time. But this time they tell us that they can not cover my husband because of heath issues. He has no other health issues than what he had when we applied for the life insurance the first time. No hospital stays, nothing at all had changed since we applied the first time. We fought and fought with them and they could never give us a reason as to why they could cover him the first time but not this time, other than "it must have gotten over-looked before". . . Very poor service we thought! So we applied for the same policy through Alflac and got it with no problems.

  4. some insurance companies will offer you more insurance every so many years and base the premium on when you first got the initial policy.
