Pardon me boys, is that a down comforter?

First Impression
My family and I had the good fortune to choose the Marriott Chattanooga Convention Center for our annual President's Day long weekend gotta-get-out-of-town excursion. Maybe I'm too easy to please, but I was impressed even before we hauled out our luggage...there was a nice bellboy waving a greeting to us and directing my husband to the check-in (check-in time is 3:00 PM). The lobby was clean and well-lit. There were several comfy conversation areas anchored by a cocktail table, sofa, chairs, side tables, and plants...like someone's living room. Each area was separate enough for privacy of conversation if one was meeting a business or personal acquaintance.   Unfortunately, we didn't have a lot of time to spend in our room because we had tons of activities planned for the kids; therefore, this review will be limited to the basics...bed, bath, and breakfast.

The Bed
When we arrived in our room, I was immediately struck by the fact that all the bed linens were WHITE...most impressive since the hotel bedspread is the first thing to get pulled off the bed as a general rule in my family. I don't want my kids rolling around on those things! Upon closer inspection, I found that the comforters on the 2 double beds were down(oooooh!)with a cotton duvet, European square pillow shams, neckroll pillow, and of course sleeping pillows...all white, with gold decorative trim. The mattresses were like heaven, no really, best I've ever seen in a hotel.

The Bathroom
The bathroom featured Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy products (shampoo, conditioner, lotion) in Orange Ginger scent...I wish those maids would allow unlimited access to the housekeeping cart. HA! The bathroom was very clean and well-stocked with the usual washcloths, handtowels, and bath towels--all white and like-new condition. A separate tub and shower made getting everyone ready in the mornings even easier. There was a coffee maker with coffee and creamers and a hair dryer in the bathroom as well.

The Breakfast
We dined in the top-floor concierge lounge which was set up with a Southern-style breakfast buffet...scrambled eggs, sausage patties and links, ham, bacon, grits, biscuits, gravy, a selection of cereals, muffins (various flavors, bran, and even some sugar-free), fruit, pastries, doughnuts,  bagels, cream cheese, make-your-own waffle station (a hit with the kids!), pancakes, etc. The beverage choices  included milk, fruit juices, coffee (decaf & caffeinated), and a selection of hot teas. My personal favorite was the omelet station staffed by a polite young lady wearing a chef's hat ...choose your ingredients and she'll make your omelet fresh and hot, delivered with a smile. Breakfast and a show, loved it! The servers were quick to refill drinks, bring condiments from the buffet, anything we needed. My 8 year old son remarked that this was the nicest place we had ever stayed...mainly because he was impressed with the crystal stemware and fancy flatware on the tables, but I had to agree!
