I had to rent a vehicle the other day to travel to Atlanta. First off it's hard to find rental companies that allow one-way drop off. I ended up going with Alamo rental cars. They were the only ones I could find in such short notice. They offered many classes of vehicles, but I wanted the cheapest on gas since I was driving to pick up another vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle I noticed right away that it was clean on the inside, but you could tell that someone had dogged it out. The brakes squeeked when you stopped, everytime the wind blew you went with it and most importantly, it took 2 full tanks of gas just to go from Orlando to Atlanta. Are you kidding me?? When I opicked up my other vehicle it only took barely a tank of gas to get all the way home. What the heck? So I would never rent the chevy aveo if you want something economical on gas!

I know there are some companies that will not rent a one way rental. This sounds convenient for those who need that type of rental. Too bad you had a gas guzzler rental!
Small cars + wind = lousy mileage! Sorry for your bad experience.

Thanks for the info. I am not a fan of car rentals either. They have all kind of hidden costs and their cars can sometimes be less than adequate.
