Silicone baking boards from QVC: I have mixed feelings about these boards. They are made out of what feels like rubber but is really silicone. You can bake cookies on these sheets and they won't stick. Here's the problem: They scared the daylights out of me the first time I used one. I made the mistake of watching it in the oven. It smelled funny as the cookies baked. The baking sheets looked like they were going to melt as they baked. I got scared and took it out and wouldn't you know it they straighten back up in to shape. lol I took the cookies out when they were done and the funny smell did not linger on the cookies so that was good. The next sheet I used I just put it in and walked away (did not watch) and went took the cookies out 11 minutes later and the board went right back into shape. lol Other problems people have had with these boards are that they smoke when they are baking. Now I never go over 350 degrees with these baking sheets so maybe thats why mine did not smoke. I still use mine and they do fine however they stain after you bake on them and that stain won't come off. I would advise finding a better non stick baking sheet or read the reviews in QVC's forums before you buy them to see if you think they are worth it.

EWWWW That would have scared me silly too Rae! How weird is this? I'd rather use parchment paper on my stainless steel cookie sheets than sit there watching these morph into the cookie monster in the oven:)
If my cookie sheets started to melt, I would panic. I'm not familiar with using silicone cookware, but many seem to like it. Thanks for the warning to be cautious!
I've not used these boards although I've used some bowls of this material - I'm still not 100% ok with them :) but I do love the utensils out now. I might just look at these and see if it isn't worth at least a try. Thanks for the info

Funny smells and smoke would definitely scare me! I've been wondering how well these do... thanks for the info.
I am still using these. They seem to work overall for me LOL. However I would advise caution :)

Sounds like these would make me nervous! I haven't tried silicone yet, hmmm I may just be waiting a bit longer. Thanks for sharing.
