Hoover Steam Vac Sucks
Rarely have I been more disappointed with a product than I am with the Hoover Steam Vac Deep Cleaner.
I ordered it from Kohl's for $229.99, and was looking forward to receiving it and giving the living room carpet and furniture a good going-over.
When it arrived there was some basic assembly like attaching the handle, etc. I filled up the tank with water and some of the carpet shampoo that came with it. ($14/64 oz.). That was very easy to do, so no problem there.
The first thing that I noticed was that the long hose for the furniture attachments was poorly stored on the handle and kept coming unwound and flopping all over the place, and getting in my way. Also, I noticed that the shampoo spray nozzle was working poorly. In fact, no shampoo at all came out when switching over to the furniture mode. And, yes, I read the manual, so I'm sure I was operating it correctly.
The number one complaint I have about this machine is that it didn't suck the shampoo/water back out of the carpet very well. This is a very cumbersome and awkward to maneuver sweeper, and I exhaustingly went over and over the entire carpet, but it was still too wet in my opinion, and in fact led to a moldy and mildewy smell in my living room. I had to run a dehumidifier for a day to dry it out.
I certainly won't buy another one of their sweepers. I would recommend to anyone looking for a carpet shampooer to try a different brand/model. You couldn't do any worse than the Hoover Steam Vac.

Oh dear, I think I have this fellows relative only mine sucks the water out just fine, but doesn't do much about sucking out the dirt along with it :) Thanks for the info, will stay away from this particular model too I believe :)
