Bio-orb Composter
I'm an avid gardener and am always trying to amend my soil, to get the best growing conditions possible for my plants.
I had already been composting for years by the conventional method of just putting grass clippings and leaves in a pile and turning it over every so often until it broke down into soil. Then I was offered the Bio-orb Composter by someone that didn't need it anymore. I tried it and love how much faster the material composts!
All I have to do is put in the grass clippings, leaves and scraps from the kitchen, water it down and snap the lid back on. Every 5-10 days I roll it around a little to get things stirred up and check to make sure it is still moist. If it looks dried out, I just add a little more water. In a matter of a couple of months I get fully composted black gold for my garden.
The reason this works faster than regular composting is that you are able to get more air to the material by rolling the bin and it is made of black recycled plastic that draws the solar energy to it, this heats up the bin for helping the composting process. There are holes all around the bin to help get air in and to let rainwater enter. The holes also allow for drainage, in case it would get too wet.

I had a question from someone asking if there is an odor given off by the composter. The answer is no, not all. The key is to keep a compost working. That is easy to do with this composter, because all you have to do is roll it around a little every week or so to keep the natural break down working.

Neat! I have a "pit" down below my tree line that all of our grass clippings, rinds,etc goes to and every so often we turn it with a rake, but I think I like this idea better ;)

I think the key as to why these drums compost better is because of the rotation of the drum, something that is difficult to do with just my old trusty pitchfork. I have to use a compost activator at times to get my piles hot enough to break down right. Do you need this with the Bio-Orb?
I haven't used it with this yet, but I'm sure it would help break it down even faster.

I've seen this or something just like it on tv. I too never really composted much becuse of the trouble or turning the ugly pile of rotting stuff in my yard. I never fully understood how you then got to all the good stuff when you were still adding stuff on top. This makes so much more sense and I love that it is easy to turn. Do you fill it and wait for what's inside to break down or can you keep adding to it? If you keep adding to it, how do you remove the black gold that's done?

I have never made my own compost. We're thinking about putting a garden in our yard in the future and this would be kinda fun. It would be great to recycle the things we're often throwing in the trash right now.

I'm all for anything that speeds up the composting process. It's a great way of recycling and gardening organically.
Now thats something special. With the 5 years warranty, i think i might want to try this out.
I have never heard of a gardening product that offers warranty. I am like you I have been doing compose the old fashion way. This is a product every gardner must try..

This composter sounds very nice. If I ever have a yard with my own garden, I'd love to be able to make my own compost. The price looks good and with a 5 year warranty, it's even better.
I need one of these. Only problem is, I have a great big area of compost and would like a giant composter, which I'm sure I could never afford! I'm envisioning your beautiful "black gold". :-)
