Single in the City!

If you are a single girl, there is no better place to travel than New York City.  It is an ideal destination for a girls' weekend or for a solo adventure.  New York City is the place to be if you enjoy shopping, dining, and entertainment. 

Because it is a major metropolitan area, you can find a variety of accomodations available.  I prefer to stay in the heart of Manhattan near the Broadway theater district.  Of course, there are other great areas to check out depending on where your interests lie.  You can find hostels for those on a budget or suites in a deluxe hotel. 

Shopping is a favorite hobby for any true girly girl!  In New York City, you have access to top designers, international shops, and unique boutiques.  Fashion Week may be an interesting time to explore the city as all the designers reveal their new collections.  You don't have to appreciate exclusive brands as, again, there is a variety of stores to choose from.  For those fashion-conscious but budget minded, you may want to check out H&M or Century 21.  You can also find good buys on fun accessories in Little Italy and Chinatown.

Dining...mmmmmm!  You can find pretty much anything and everything in New York City!  I love to eat out while traveling and explore new cuisines.  You can find the usual chains and fast food joints, if you are not so adventurous.  There is also pizza on just about every corner!  I like to check out the variety of authentic international eateries.  Little Italy and Chinatown have a multitude of options in their respective cuisines.  You can also find Indian, Thai, kosher, and even Filipino restaurants!  I do not think one can get bored with the number of menu options in New York City and I think everyone should find something they like.

Entertainment must be on the list when you travel to the city.  Most people think of the Broadway plays but there are also quaint art galleries, amazing museum collections, TV studios, and huge book stores to browse.  One of my favorite forms of entertainment anywhere I travel is simply people-watching---and there are plenty of interesting people to watch and observe in New York City!

I've been to New York with my sister, with friends, with classmates and I can attest that it is one of my top travel destinations.  Now perhaps I need to go there with my husband to see how it is when married...I can only imagine it is just as splendid!
