Quilted Hammock

Towards the end of last summer our rope hammock finally gave out and had to be replaced.  The stand was still good, so we only needed the hamock part.  I started looking around and found this one clearanced 50%  at Target.  It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but the price was right, so I decided to give it a try.  We've been really happy with it so far.

Unlike our old hammock, this one is made of a quilted fabric.  It is green on one side and a burgundy tropical print on the other.   It came with a pillow, too, which I really liked. This quilted hammock is so much more comfortable that our rope one was.  I always felt like I needed a to spread a blanket over the old one, but there is no need for that with this one.  This hammock is big enough for two people to lay on comfortably.

After being outside for almost a year, it still looks really good.  It hasn't faded at all and the ropes aren't showing any signs of wear.  I will say that it gets a lot dirtier that the old one.  It seems to catch every leaf or pollen that falls from the trees, but you just have to brush it off with your hand and it cleans up pretty well.  I have noticed that when we have strong winds, it flips over stand and all, which our rope one never did.  This isn't really a problem, other than having to go out and turn it rightside up again.  We should probably be bringing in when the weather is bad, who has time for that?
