My aunt bought me the FujiFilm FinePix A340 digital camera around 5 or 6 years ago. So for a digital camera this one is pretty old! I have probably taken 10,000 or more pictures with this camera and it still works great! I take a LOT of pictures!
This camera offers 4.0 mega pixels and a 3x optical zoom. It has a streamlined menu navigation and a quick playback mode.
It takes up to a 2272 x 1704 image size. Movie mode (10fps without sound) It has 2 shutter speeds and a 1.5" LCD color monitor. It comes with a 16MB removable xD-Picture card. It is pretty compact at 4 x 2.4 x 1.2 inches. It weighs 5.1 ounces with batteries and it is powered by 2AA batteries. The picture cable and rechargeable battery pack is sold separately. It connects through a USB cable. It allows panning and trimming and can shoot portrait, scene, sport, night, auto or manual.
Pros
This camera is very durable! I have dropped it many times and it has never messed up. It is very easy to transfer the pictures onto the computer and it takes great quality images. It is a very easy camera to use and for a digital camera I think that the battery life is decent. The price is pretty good too.
Cons
It has a long shutter lag so it isn't dependable when catching special moments fast. It does not do well in low lighting or night time shooting. It also does not do well with close up shots. They usually turn out blurry. Compared to the digital cameras out now, it is a little bulky. The memory card provided is small so I would recommend buying a larger one. At the time I'm sure the LCD screen was large but now it seems small compared to some of the others.
This is a great everyday camera. It takes great pictures and is very dependable. I wouldn't recommend it for special events but it would be a great starter camera for someone. I am still amazed it has lasted this long and it has never messed up! When compared to the newer models of course they seem better but this one does a great job for its age. That is rare to find. I'm actually not sure on the price. I saw a few places that said they had it for around $90. Since it was a gift I have no idea what she actually paid for it at the time.
This camera has a few scratches but it keeps on ticking!

Sounds like the best in it's price range!
I have one of these cameras and you are right, it does have a lag between one shot and when it is ready for another but overall I love this camera. It is easy to use and is very dependable.
Durability is a definite plus. This sounds like a great camera.
We too have a Fuji FinePix & we experience a bit of a lag as well.
I love Fuji cameras, the picture quality is amazing.
Wow....10,000 or more pictures with this camera and it still works great. Glad that you have fully utilised this camera and the best thing is it is still working. Thanks for sharing.
Fuji makes some surprisingly good cameras. Their pricing is competitive and they are very sturdy. Even with shutter lag, this one still takes some very high quality shots.
I love how small cameras are getting. This looks like a great camera with a good price range!
i had a fuji camera, id rate it a 2, it was clunky and took crappy digi pics, glad yours seems to be a better buy.
