I love to cook and enjoy trying the latest kitchen gadget craze. I must have been crazed myself when I bought this Magic Bullet. For all of you who have seen its informercial of the couple entertaining a group of friends by making several dishes using the magic bullet, you know the promises they make.
When I first got home with it, I wanted to make salsa. It did a fine job chopping my onions, garlic and pepper...just not at the same time. I wasn't pleased with the way it chopped the tomatoes at first, but when I tried to make salsa a second time, it did better on the tomatoes. Again don't plan on chopping everything together.
My second test was coffee beans. EXCELLENT job on grinding coffee beans.
In the commercial, the couple is shown making pasta sauces. Didn't work for me either. Again, you can't fit an entire recipe of ingredients into the "capsule", so if you are making a dish meant for more than one person, it's not worth the time, mess, and effort.
I enjoy grinding fresh coffee beans in the Magic Bullet, but I really enjoy using it for fruit smoothies. In fact, I sold my smoothie maker at a garage sale. The Magic Bullet is easier to clean that the smoothie maker was, it also takes up less room. Therefore, that is the real reason that I did not return this product. Is it worth $50? Not in my book. But, I do think that I got my moneys worth because of all the fruit smoothies that I drink. It just did not live up to the hype of the infomercial.
