Big picture in a small space. The flat tv has brought to users an ability to have big pciture and not fill your space with a huge box. The akai 42 inch plasma is a fairly priced 760p television. It is a monitor with no tuner. It requires a signal to view hd tv. It features hdmi input, 2 progressive scan inputs as well as s video as well as regular av input. For sound there are speakers built into the included stand. This allows for removing the stand for wall mount but doing so will cost you the speakers and require seperate sound from external stereo speakers. The tv features a great picture in picture for multi input with various position and size options. The weakness is the remote which features a cheap build and poor layout. It does the job but is difficult to navigate with. The tv though does feature solid performance and great stand alone sound. A solid but for around $1000.

I'm really at war with myself over these TV's. Our CRT Toshiba 35 is just superb. Part of me wants to wait and see how long and how well these new flat screens hold up over time before making the jump. The other greedier less sensible Froggy wants one now. Sigh. I'll wait.
These flat tv's are coming on fast. My friend has one, and it is pretty neat. New technology at its finest!

I would like some of these so I can get rid of my clunky tvs.
