Hand Crafted Teddy Bear Lamps

      Let me start by saying I am a teddy bear fanatic.

     When I was pregnant for my 1st daughter 3 yrs ago, I wanted to do her nursery up in the teddy bear theme.  We had gotten the crib set, wall border, stuffed teddies, teddy figures, and teddy bear wall pictures.  The only thing we were missing was some lamps.   I wanted something that was nice and that she could keep in her room for years to come and not be too baby like. 

     So here I am browsing E-Bay one day and what do I come across but the nicest bear lamps I had seen since I started the nursery.  

    These lamps are specially crafted and hand painted by skilled artisans. Each lamp is unique since they are all done by hand, I bought 2 of them and you can see slight differences in them. These are the Story Bear accent Lamps, they stand about 12" tall, the base is a cherry wood color with felt underneath to prevent scratches to the surface it sits on.

   On the base sits 2 beautifully detailed teddy bears a boy and a girl, they are sitting on a bench holding a story book.  The shade is an ivory plastic with detailed carved pictures,  6 pictures total around the shade.   The colors you see on the shade when lit are actually painted on the inside of the shade so when the lamp is not turned on you would just think it a ivory shade with carvings on it. Then you get the most amazing surprise when you turn the lamp on.  Its  like if it comes to life, all the carvings of the teddy bears around the shade light up and  just look so beautiful.

      This accent lamp uses night light size bulbs, and is turned on and off buy a switch  on the cord.

    The Story Bear lamps are very beautiful and nicely detailed. They were just what I was looking for to complete my daughter nursery.
