Working in the yard or on the cars, leaves my husband's clothes full of unidentified stains. Add to that our ill-mannered (jumping) dogs and you have a laundry nightmare! So when I buy 'work' clothes for him I hate to spend too much money on something I know will be ruined as soon as he puts it on.
While I was at Wal-Mart I passed by a display of men's t-shirts for 5.00 each. They were all solid colors, with a band of contrast at the neck. They had a choice of about 5 or 6 colors and the sizes ranged from small to 3X. I couldn't pass up a deal like this, knowing that in record time these shirts would look like they had been tie-dyed with oil, transmission fluid, grass stains, mud... I could go on, and on. I bought two, and headed home.
The shirts are 60% /40% cotton blend. I thought the fabric was a little thin, but what the heck, I don't care for $5.00. After I washed them and took took them from the dryer, the material seemed a little softer and thicker due to a small amount of shrinking. They didn't shrink a lot, just enough to make the shirt feel like a better quality fabric.
When my husband put one on, he actually made a remark about how soft the t-shirt felt! Huh? My husband noticed something? Now I felt like rescuing the shirt from stain-hell! But, I know a guy's gotta do, what a guy's gotta do!
The Faded Glory t-shirts are not made in the USA, so if you buy American, this isn't the shirt for you. But if you're looking for a good, inexpensive work tee, this is it! In fact, the t-shirt is a much better shirt then I thought originally, and could be worn nicely with a pair of jeans.
I forgot to mention that these t-shirts don't have that annoying scratchy label at the back of the neck. The size, and washing instructions are stamped onto the fabric where a label normally would be placed.
There are no votes to show.
And how do they even get so dirty? I know I'm the one that cooks and cleans, and he's the one with the stains :p)
Nice shirt and for 5 bucks thats a deal.
That's what my husband buys as outside work T-shirts, they are solid color, not expensive, and durable enough to live trough many washings. I also like that Faded Glory has gotten rid of the scratching label you've mentioned. :)
I'm going to have to get some of these for my husband, he has stains on his t-shirt all the time and it gets really expensive, thanks for sharing.
My husband also wears this brand to kick around in the yard with!
With still such a wide choice of about 5 or 6 colors and the sizes ranging from small to 3X....and only selling for $5..brand-faded glory...WOOOOOOOW....wonderful buy indeed
I have some Faded Glory T-shirts I use for work as well. They are good.
