Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen

Share and Enjoy:

Although I don't tend to sunburn easily, I do take precautions when it comes to sun exposure on my skin.  A couple of my family members have been diagnosed with skin cancer so I don't want to take any chances.

I've tried other sun screens over the years, and they seem to work well, but I found them to be heavy, and they all had that same 'sunscreen' smell to them.  It's the same with suntan lotions, they all have a similar smell.  I bought the Hawaiian Tropic #45 sunscreen just to try something new.  First of all, I like the fresh smell!  To me, it smells like pears!  Maybe it's suppose to be another fruity smell, but that's what it smells like to me.  Second, it's a lighter, sheerer, lotion so I didn't feel like I'm caking it on my skin.  The directions say to apply as needed, especially if you towel dry your skin, or after swimming or perspiring. Which makes me wonder how it's waterproof if you have to keep reapplying it after swimming or perspiring!  It also claims it retains it's SPF for up to 8 hours in the water.  (But don't you have to reapply? You figure it out!)

I like the fact that it's moistures and contains vitamins A, C, and E.  Supposedly, it's 'anti-aging', and hypoallergenic, with UVB and UVA protection.  I especially like the fact that it's oil free, so it won't leave stains on clothing.  It feels like a light moisturizing lotion when applied to the skin. One other thing... it's non-migrating.  At first I wasn't sure what this meant in regard to sunscreen, but it just means it won't transfer into your eyes etc., by way of water or sweat.

My purchase came with a little bonus tube of Hawaiian Tropic Firming Island Glow, which is a daily moisturizer with a subtle sunless blend.  The bottom line is, I do a lot of yard work, and drive a convertible in the summer, so I need to protect my skin.  I think this sunscreen does a good job without making me feel like I'm wearing a thick layer of goop!

Uh-oh... I meant to say, (in 3rd paragraph): "I like the fact that it's moisturizing...  Must have nodded-off right there! lol!

  1. Sounds like a great product. The king and I need to get some for the prince he tends to burn on the back of his neck where his tee shirt pulls down and by the way hes "my little red headed monster" so he has very fair skin. Unlike his dad and me.
