Debbie Meyer Green Bags
I had seen the infomercial for Debbie Meyer Green bags in the past. As much as I like watching it, I was pretty sure that they were exaggerating their claims.
We do a lot of warehouse shopping, and occasionally buy produce from the warehouse. When we do that, we have trouble eating all of it before it goes bad.
While at Wal-Mart recently, I discovered they had a 20 pack of the bags for $10, so I decided to give it a try. I even decided to make a semi-scientific experiment and took photos, and even had a control subject. I have attached the photos I took because the results are pretty dramatic.
The second photo is taken ten days after the first photo. While the green bag strawberry definitely doesn't look as fresh as the day I bought it, it looks dramatically better than my control. Despite myself, I am impressed.
Now some of you may be wondering about the bananas. While the green bags work really well against rotting, they do NOT work well to protect fruit from hungry children with no respect for science. The green bag made the banana last a day longer than the control banana, but once the children realized there was a banana in that bag, it was all over.
So, if you are wanting to extend the life of your produce, this is definitely a great product. If you are looking to hide food from hungry kids, you will probably want to keep looking. And let me know if you figure that one out, ok?

Have been wondering if these worked. I guess they do if you don't have hungry youngins around.
My wife is VERY upset and disappointed with the performance of the Green Bags. None of the vegetables or fruits used with the bags (tomatoes, strawberries, chives) have lasted ANY longer than if they had not been in the bags. The tomatoes went bad and moldy very quickly. All of the ads seem SO great, but are simply a marketing ploy. These things simply DO NOT WORK!! We will NEVER purchase again, and will warn all of our family and friends to not buy them as well. TRASH!!!!
These bags DO NOT WORK!!!! Don't waste your money!!! If you forget to wipe the moisture out of the bag the produce turns moldy right away. If you remember to wipe the moisture out of your bags the produce last a little longer but not much. I don't care if they are reuseable, there still not woth it!!! Total waste of money, will never buy them again. I knew it was too good to be true!
My son is actually doing his science project on whether or not the green bags work! Conclusion, they do not work and we have the pictures to prove it! Intially they seem to be working because the produce does seem to be a little firmer. But then comes the mold! Much more mold growth than just regular bags. Bananas do look much better when put in green bags until you peel them. They get far more mushy and brown inside when using the green bags as opposed to just leaving them out on your counter. Don't waste your money!
