Fine Pix S5700...A good digital camera

We bought this camera in October of 2007 and Ihave to say that it is well worth the money.  It is not by any means the most expensive digital camera but, it is definately worth the 300.00 that we spent on it!  It is an 7mp camera, and with an 2gb SD memory card can hold 568 pictures.  With an 2gb XD picture card can hold 586 pictures.  That is at the 3.5mb picture size for both the SD and the XD.  This camera has all sorts of bells and whistles on it!  The basic funcitons all the way up to the advanced funcitons for the more experienced photographer!  Like most digital cameras it has the video function as well.  The sound on the video feature is very sensitive and will pick up everything!  The quality of the pictures that this camera puts out is great!  We first looked at this same camera at Circut City and it was just over $100 MORE than Walmart.  Not to mention that the sales associate at Circut City told us to use lithium batteries in the camera.  We chose to wait and see what they had at Walmart.  There we found is cheaper by quite a bit and the sales assoiciate showed us the 179 pg handbook that came with the camera and in it stated "DO NOT USE LITIUM BATTERIES".  These batteries will get to hot and cause damage to the camera!  Just one more reason I am glad we waited and bought it where we did.  Bottom line we have been really pleased with the camera and strongly recomend it to anyone who is looking for and good digital camera around $300.

  1. As a graphic designer I've been needing a digital camera, could you in good faith tell me whether or not this one would work for me? You answered all my questions I'm more asking if this is a casual use camera or a real good digital camera.

  2. Well in my opinion it is more than just an casual camera. It has advanced features of procedure setting, pic. stabalizatoin, Natural light setting (2 different ones) 2 different scene pos. settings, Program AE, Shutter priority, and a ton more features that would take up alot of space to list. I hope this was helpful.
