I'm not a huge fan of stair climbers because I never thought that they gave me a great workout. However, the last couple of times i've been going to the gym, I've given it a try because people seem to be always on one.

The Stairmaster 4000T is a very simple and easy to use stair climber. I was able to jump on it and get going in a matter of seconds. There are many settings from a simple freestyle workout to a timed one and you can set the stiffness of each step. I feel very comfortable when I am using this machine and each step feels natural, as nothing is strained. After about half an hour my legs feel very tired and you can sense that you acutally did get a workout out of it. There isn't anything special about this model such as flashing lights or air conditioning (like I've seen in some very high end models) but it gets the job done comfortably and that is what I am looking for when I workout on a stair climber.

I never thought they toned one very well. I've tried one. They seem like they would burn calories though!
