I have been a customer of Sprint since 2000. I recently needed to replace my dead cell phone so I called to see when my contract end date was. I was told it ended in April 2008. The customer service lady asked why I wanted to know. I told her since my phone had to be replaced, I was going to be shopping around to see what other companies had to offer me. She offered me some savings on my old plan that I just couldn't refuse. To take advantage of her offer I would need to sign up for a new 2 year contract. No problem!
Here's what I ended up with:
1000 minutes each month for $40.00
Free Night and Weekends starting at 7pm
Free Mobile to Mobile calls
Free Roaming
Caller Id
Call Waiting
Three way calling
Voicemail
Additional minutes are $.40 per minute
She said because I was a loyal customer since 2000 she could offer me this great deal. I doubled the number of minutes I was previously paying for and she removed the monthly fee I was charged for nights starting at 7pm. Just between us... I wasn't planning to change my carrier, but I did want to shop around. This offer changed my mind. I didn't even make a call to another cell phone company. So if your contract is coming to an end soon, give your carrier a call and I bet they will offer you some great savings on your current plan to keep you as a customer!

I love it when you get great offers just by telling them you are thinkng of changing. If you are happy with the phone and service, I would have done the same!
Wow you got a great deal we had sprint and horrible signal so had to gt rid of them but will definitely try this with Verizon when our contract is up in a few months.
This sounds like a great phone plan. Thanks for the information.
This sounds like a great deal. Wonder if they'd use it to pull in a new customer!
sound relly good, but we live in the country and don't get the good service like in the citys. We have to go with what company has the most tower in our area.
My husband used to have Sprint and had lousy service, he recently switched to Cingular/ATT, glad you have had god luck and got a good price.
nice to read a positive cellular experience for a change :)
Fantastic deal!! I like the perks you get for being a loyal customer!
Lots of competition out there. Always good when you can get that to work for you!
Yep, it's always good to ask about any special deals or tell them you might be leaving. I've done this with my cable company a couple of times. Good deal for you!
Sounds like a great plan...its always good to let them think they hav esome competition because you can usually get better deals if they think that.
Ahahaha, that is AWESOME. I know that I'm going to try and do that to customer service when my contract is nearing its end. Not sure if the buttheads at Verizon would do that, but I'll have to mention checking out another customer. And WOW, that's a pretty cool deal.
I have been a Sprintpcs customer since 1997 and have the free and clear 1500 and also have a few add ons at no extra cost. I wonder if the free and clear plan is a nationwide plan (provided that only using the sprint network) I was never told.
I've got sprint and way too many issues with service and overcharges so I think once our contract ends, we're abandoning them for good.
