We were in the market for a new cordless phone so I decided to stop by RadioShack and see what the had to offer. We had talked about getting the kind that has additional hadsets that sat in the chargers and only need and electrical outlet and no phone jack. So I that is what I focused on. I found this RaidoShack brand expandable cordless phone w/digital answering system. It seemed to have all the features on it that we wanted and then some. So I decided to buy it. It is a 5.8 GHz phone that came with 2 hand sets and the "main base w/answering system" and the other "charger base". The Phones themselves are light weight and pretty compact for an cordless phone. The buttons are still big enough that you are not pushing two or three at the same time. It can be used as an room monitor, walkie talkie, and the answering system acan be operated from the handset as well as the main base. You get your choice of several differnt ployphonic ringtones on each handset. It reminds me of a cell phone in that aspect. My Favorite feature on this phone is the DND (Do Not Distrub). Once you have set this feature you will not have to answer calls or hear them being recorded on the answering system. However It will flash to let you know that you have an incoming call and that you have an message. There are a ton of different features on this phone and they are all easy to use and very handy. The range with this phone is up to 4 blocks away from the base. Of course I had to try that and YES it did work. That to is very cool! I really think that this system was money well spent!

Ouch, that's a hefty price tag, though. Thanks for sharing.
I should have went this route. Thanks for the information. We bought cordless name brand phones from RadioShack and the reception is horrible if you're on a different floor from the base not to mention right next to it. I guess when we get frustrated enough, we'll go for the RadioShack brand you recommend. Thanks!
This sounds like a great phone. Thanks for the information.
I think I would love the do not disturb feature too!
