I received this Emerson microwave as a gift last year. I love it! It has alot of extra features. I find that this microwave cooks faster and more evenly than others I have owned. I like that you can pre-program the microwave to defrost according to the weight of frozen items. It beeps to let you know when it has completed half of the defrost time. I put in a bag of popcorn and set the timer to the required time, but I find that since it cooks things quite fast, it over cooked the popcorn and it burnt. So whatever the recommended cooking time is for your food, you should only cook it half that time. It has buttons pre-programmed with cooking times for a dinner plate, beverage, muffin, soup, potato, fresh vegetables and frozen pizza. I love the fact that I don't have to think about how many minutes to program the microwave. I put in my coffee, press the "beverage" button and the microwave heats it to a perfect temperature. Put in a frozen pizza and push the "frozen pizza" button and the microwave cooks it without me having to even look at the box for cooking times. Isn't that a perfect appliance? Yes it is! It has a one year warranty. I have had it almost a year and had no problems to report. I would definitely recommend this microwave!

Hmm, my old microwave is dying a slow death, so I may have to look into something like this one.
emerson is a brand i have had lots of good experience with in the past and current, good to know it is across the board!
Our old microwave finally gave out four months ago after nearly 12 years of use (yes, it was old!), and we replaced it with an Emerson. So far, so good. And ours has lots of cool buttons, too!
I think I have an older model of the Emerson that was my Mom's. It's in storage now, but after Mom's use it survived my grad school days, and one son's use for a while.
i have an emerson too ! they are microwave masters! Vioted
