My son has always been a little daredevil. From the time he learned to crawl I have followed after him. My friends can sit around and chat at playgrounds but not me! As soon as my back is turned he would do something to give me yet another gray hair :0)
Anyway, when we decided to build him a playground in our backyard, I knew that I wanted a tube slide. We looked and looked from Greenville to Raleigh, NC and online. I could not find anything to meet my needs. Finally, driving home one day from work, there it was....on the side of the road, covered in mildew and dirt...a tube slide! I talked to the lady and bought the slide pictured AND a straight wave slide for $75 (I sold the wave slide at a yard sale for $10).
The tube slide comes in 9 pieces. Each tube section has a top and bottom that bolt together and then there is an end peice at the bottom where the slider comes out. Then the sections of tube are bolted together. The entire slide then bolts to a structure (in our case a fort). It was super easy to put together. And as you can see is still in great shape. We have had this slide for almost 3 years and I am the 3rd owner to use it!
It is sturdy and can withstand climbing, sliding and jumping on. I would guess that it is about 6 or 7 feet tall when put together.

Love this slide, its perfect to protect your little daredevil.
Yeap. I am so lucky to have found it second hand.
Awesome purchase, and your backyard must be the focus of the neighborhood!
I like the tube slide, then I know my kid will be on it when she gets to the bottom. Some of the other styles scare me.
I know. Whenever I take my kid to Sonic, they have this really high twisting slide but it is not a tube. I must be overprotective because when kids lean over the edge at the top I am right there telling them not to (and to break the fall in case they tumble over)! I am forever shocked to see how quite a large percentage of parents pay little or no attention to their little ones on play grounds :0(
This sounds like fun...i want to be a kids again
