Help! I Need a Title Company!

We sold our second home ‘by owner', and I can honestly say I didn't know what the heck I was doing!  When we finally had an offer, followed by a down payment, I wasn't sure what I should do next!  (Ok, so that's why people like me should stick with a real estate broker!)  I grabbed the yellow pages and scanned through the title companies.  I didn't get too far through the alphabet when I came across American Pacific Title and Escrow.  With the down payment check in hand, I made a call and said, "I think I'm selling my house, but what do I do with this check?"  An understanding woman on the other end explained what I should do next.  She laid it out step-by-step, in plain English.  After I hung up, I knew exactly what documents I needed to take to them, and of course, not to forget that down payment check.

From that day forward, the people at American Pacific Title and Escrow did all of the work for us!  Everything was orchestrated flawlessly, right down to signing the closing papers.  Other than running a few papers down the offices, they took care of everything.  They also were in contact with the new buyers, and had them bring in their paperwork.  The communication among all of us was very good, with American Pacific Title and Escrow facilitating all of it.

I can brag, and say, "I sold my own home", but in reality I didn't really do much work.  I'm not sure I'd do a FSBO again, but in our case things went smoothly.  American Pacific Title and Escrow is still in business, but has changed the business name.  Now it's called, Amerititle.
