Expert Gardener Fertilized Potting Soil

While shopping for potting soil and fertilizer I ran across Expert Gardener Perfect Mix fertilized potting soil. This soil contains Expert Gardener ColorCote Plant Food that fertilizes both vegetables and flowering plants for up to six months.

The guaranteed analysis of the ColorCote plant food is 17-17-17.

The information on the bag reminded me of Miracle Grow, but the price was much much less… The same size bag of Miracle Grow was more than twice as much money. Being the cheap skate, ummm bargain shopper, that I am I decided to give it a try.

I used the soil for several varieties of potted plants as well as used it to enrich the ground soil.

After 2 months I would have to say that the Expert Gardener Perfect Mix has worked as well for me as Miracle Grow potting soil has in the past. All of the plants are bright green and very full.

I want to add that currently Expert Gardener has a special edition pink bag sold at Walmart that when purchased has a donation made to support Komen for the Cure, a breast cancer cure fund.

It's always good to hear how well the store brands compare. Some are great, others no so much.
