I was first introduced to the Haribo Gold-bears Gummi Candy in Germany. My husband is addicted to the stuff. The kind that you get in Germany is sweeter and softer.
Unfortunately, the American kind is less sweet and less soft, but still tastes good. Even though my husband likes the German candy better.
Okay, he picks up a package of these candies and tries to get me to take one or two. Of course, I was trying to stay slim and svelte so I said no. He persisted. Eventually, I agreed to eat one red one. I slowly sucked it in my mouth and then bit into it and chewed.
It was chewy like some of the older candies you don't find in the store any more like the chewy Norwegian fish. I ate another and another. Thankfully, one package is only 5 ozs. so I didn't eat that much, but I still like those candies.
We went shopping today and my husband found the candies in the Navy Commissary. Yes, we bought some.

We love 'em here too! I have to tell you, though, I'm really mean when it comes to eating them. I used to give them to my teen when she was little. She thought they were so cute! I'd bite their little heads off and make a screaming noise with my mouth closed. She'd get so mad at me, telling me to "stop hurting them"...I think I scarred her for life. I don't do that anymore, well okay, sometimes I do. The teen still gets mad. The little one just thinks it's funny.
