Columbia Hanging Travel Kit

Share and Enjoy:
For Christmas last year, I got my husband this Columbia Sportswear Company Hanging Travel Kit. He goes out of town frequently for business and was always either borrowing my make up cases or just packing his stuff in plastic bags so I thought this would be a nice change for him.

I was going to get him a regular little travel bag but when I saw this hanging one, I thought it would work even better for him. This is a great rugged, guy looking bag. The outside is a weathered brownish green canvas and it is accented by dark brown leather piping and a band across it that says Columbia. The inside of the bag is lined with a water proof nylon.

There are 3 zippered compartments. The 2 side pockets are large enough to hold hair brushes, toothbrushes and full size tubes of toothpaste, deodorant or shave cream. One has a built in mesh pocket to hold small loose items and the other side has built in loops to hold toothbrushes or razors in place. The center pocket has both a zipper and a Velcro closure. The zipper opens on 2 sides to form a flap. When you open the flap, there is a metal hook inside that you can use to hang the bag in the open position from a closet rod, shower rod or a door handle. This makes it really easy for him to get his stuff in and out with out having to spread it all over the counters. Inside this compartment is another smaller zippered compartment and 2 large mesh pockets. Here you can hold full size bottles of shampoo with out a problem.

The first time he went to use it, I stocked it for him with everything he would need for his trip. When he came home, he left everything he needed in it and just refilled what ever he ran low on. Now when he needs to go away, it is always packed and ready just for him, it's a real time saver for both of us.

He has been very happy with the case and after several trips, it still looks and works great. Now I wish I had gotten one for our family trips as well.

I took this travel kit along with me on my recent cruise. On the way home, a bottle of hair gel that was packed in it opened and leaked all over the inide and outside. It was a sticky mess and I had no choice but to wash it. I put the bag in the wash machine on the gentle cycle and air dried it when it was done. it washed great with no damage and looks brand new.
