I recently, as of about a month ago started taking Cymbalta. Now Cymbalta is typically for those who are suffering with anxiety and/or depression, but it is also used to help ease the pain associated with Fibromyalgia. When I heard there was one pill for three things, I was willing to try it.
I take one pill nightly and have not experienced any side effects at all. I feel calmer with less anxiety, plus it helps ease the pain I get with my Fibromyalgia.
There is no generic for Cymbalta at this time, so without insurance it could be rather expensive. I have an HMO and pay $25/monthly (which is my copay).
I have been extremely pleased so far with this medication and am even more estatic that it will help with depression, anxiety and the pain of my FM.

I will keep this in mind as I am told by the doctor I am stressed, however I have to see a nero in the next few weeks. I will ask about this. Thanks
One of my dear friends also takes Cymbalta for her fibro & it is helping!
I take this as well and it has been a huge help!
I think I may need some. I will inquire with my md.
I just want to warn that for those who do expereince side effects, they can be very severe. My MIL had to be taken off it immediately for "brain zaps" similar to blackouts. Anyone who takes this should make sure they research fully.
Glad this is working for you...FMS is such a crappy illness, it took me over a dozen years to finally get on to something that actually made a difference...sometimes the cons do outweigh the pros especially were side effects are concerned but when living with this illness sometimes it's a risk we have to at least attempt because we'll never know if something might actually be exactly what is right for us. Hope it continues to be a benefit to you. Take care.
If we are in pain- we will try what ever, and if this works go for it.
