Cobra 4” – 6” Large Drain Cleaning Bladder

We recently purchased a home and had a slight plumbing problem. Unfortunately, this problem didn’t rear its ugly head until Friday evening when it was too difficult to find an agency that would be able to reinstall the main sewage line that we needed. The plumber who was able to come out on Saturday morning recommended this as a temporary solution. Since, not taking a shower or using the restroom for two days wasn’t a very attractive option, we gave it a try. The design of the bladder is simple. It has brass fittings that you screw the end of your garden hose to. Next, you put it four to six feet into the pipe that you’re trying to clear. You then turn on your hose, slowly at first and building up to full pressure. The bladder expands in your pipe stopping any of the blockage from seeping back. It has a small hole in the other end that the water is forced through which clears anything blocking the pipe ahead of it. There was a lot of dirt and sand from our collapsed line, so this bladder did well to give us enough room in the pipe to at least shower and use the facilities for the next few days. It saved us from having to spend more money to rent a hotel room for the weekend and allowed us to have a functional plumbing system until we could have it replaced. I hope no one ever needs this, but if you do, it’s a very effective and affordable band aid for an otherwise major problem.
