Fun for Babies, Toddlers & More

Share and Enjoy:

My mother purchased Let's Go To The Farm when my daughter was about 5 months old. The video is recommended for ages 3 - 18 months. Initially my daughter didn't seem very interested in the movie. However, once she got older, around 9 months, she was drawn into the vivid colors and cute themes presented. The music is also very catchy and did great at cheering her up. I believe my mother found this first video at Sears quite by accident. After my daughter's positive experience with the first one, I found several more Curious Buddies videos at Amazon.com. Most come with a stated age range, but I found once she started to enjoy one, she enjoyed them all. The one exception to this is Helping At Home. This video is targeted to 2-3 year olds. She was very close to the 24 month mark before this one held her interest. Not at almost 3, she loves Helping At Home, and still enjoys watching all the other, including the ones that say they are intended for the 3- 12 month olds.

Each of the videos has a theme to it and run approx. 30 minutes. I found this time to be about perfect. A nice break from routine without being overly long. The movies feature five puppet-style animals (cat, dog, pig, etc.) each in a vibrant color and easily named after the animal it is. I felt this helped my daughter to learn each of these animals names, appearances, sounds, and more. There are fun songs throughout the videos, along with the occasional adult voiceover. The woman who does the voice over sounds very friendly and eager to play along. In addition to the puppet-style animal, real-life scenes appear in each video, from real animals on the farm in the On The Farm video to working dump trucks and construction sites in the Let's Build video to learning yoga moves, dancing and other exercise-type activities in Let's Move.

I am expecting a new daughter in the next few months and am very eager to share all of these videos with her as well. I also know her big sister will have a great time watching them with her and helping her to learn along with each new one. I highly recommend these fun, vibrant videos!
