Better safety
The first reason I sign up for this Visa Electron is to withdraw my paypal money. But as I used it more and more I slowly discover the beauties in this card. First it will prevent overspending since it is a debit card and you can only spend how much you have in the card. It is globally accepted.We can earn interest on credit balance and earn cash on retail purchase and if we spend above RM 1201 a year the annual fees of RM 24 will be waived.
The only cons i have with this card is, in July statement i suddenly recieved a statement saying that a fee of RM 22.60 will be deducted from my credit in the card. It was stated as MEGA BONUS- PR rewards but they deduct instead of giving me the rewards....That is a real shock to me!!!I rang up customer service and they say that because I keep drawing money from paypal instead of retail purchase so i need to pay them the MEGA bonus - PR rewards instead of they paying me...ridiculous!! I write an email to Public Bank and only then they cancel that charges and they didn't give me a single cent for the Mega bonus.
Overall I still love that card. More safety than credit card and more controlled spending too.
