Old World Apple Basket
This was a gift sent to us. Its very clever. Its a heavy apple basket.
Whats clever about this basket is when you move the handle down it collapses flat into the shape of an apple. Flip the collapsed basket over and its a hot plate/trivet or a cutting board!
I think this is a fairly new novelty item that comes in many shapes such as an apple, rooster, heart, teapot or other shapes. Sometimes they are referred to as magic baskets.
It could hold apples, candy or a variety of items. It could also be used as a decorative item.
These make excellent gifts and they run anywhere from 22 dollars to 40 dollars.
